While Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) was first identified in military veterans, it has been expanded to include any catastrophic event.  Catastrophic events include rape, physical or sexual abuse, mugging, and natural disasters.  What is considered a catastrophy can also be subjective - such as a break up.
